In a feuilleton published in the Communist Yiddish newspaper Freiheit (Freedom) , the writer M. Ring writes about Our Theater:

They say that in that there are farther places in the world than 180th Street and Boston Road, but that would be an exaggeration, notwithstanding the fact that the well-known mathematician, astronomer, and director Mendl Elkin is the one to have developed his own theater about the Bronx. After a row of head-spinning mathematical equations, the aforementioned Elkin came to the conclusion that the place called the Bronx is only relatively distant. And the proof: for all those who live in the Bronx, 180th St., Boston Road, and Our Theater is not at all just a far place. Beofre this point, however, it must first be demonstrated that the Bronx is a place where one can live, and then one can begin to lay the basis for the clearly absurd that a normal person can have some desire to live in the Bronx and when all of that is proven the question still remains whether one should move to the Bronx to prove Mendl Elkin's theory about the Bronx.

It is said, however, that what Our Theater is accomplishing in the Bronx will, firstly, very soon prove to put the Bronx on the map and will, secondly, surprise, and deafen,  overhwelm (baroyshen) all of us with modernistic theater art that we will soon not think twice about the subway ride up to Our Theater.
