  • 19,000 volumes by World War I

  • In 1928, Stefan Batory Library (present day Vilnius University Library) donates most of its Yiddish and Hebrew books to the Strashun Library

  • 35,000 volumes by 1935, including 150 manuscripts, 5 incunabula, and 400 books printed in the 16th century
